On the Throne Again: Santa Signs Record Deal

Mr. Claus hopes first single will inspire reindeer treats like carrots or celery sticks instead of Milk and Cookies

Nashville, TN

Written as a parody to Willie Nelson's “On the Road Again, “On the Throne Again” is sure to tickle your funny bone, and leave you with a jolly holiday smile on your face!

Being on Santa’s naughty list is never a good thing, and no one knows that better than Mr. Salvador Geovonte, VP of Regal Records Nashville. For two years Mr. Geovonte has endured coal, rocks, banana peels and peanut shells all because he'd called Santa “that fat old dude with the beard" at the annual office party in 2010 - And on Christmas Eve at that!!!

When Santa paid him a Christmas Eve visit in 2012 to leave a big, fat, piece of black coal in his stocking AND to leave his kids an extra amount of toys, just for a little lesson, Santa wasn't feeling quite himself.  His stomach was aching pretty badly from all of the goodies he had already eaten. Regardless of the little rift between them, Santa didn't think that Mr. Geovonte would mind if he used the bathroom before he left.

Santa would never leave a house without eating at least one cookie and he would never waste a drop of milk, you know. However, sometimes that milk and those cookies have been sitting out for hours waiting for the little round man in the red suit. That could surely set an old tummy to churning.

While Santa was doing his business in the bathroom, Mr. Geovonte woke up.  Hearing humming and some words to a tune, he wasn’t sure what to make of it. He thought they were saying "On the Throne Again…" or something like that. As Mr. Geovonte quietly stood outside the bathroom door, Santa rang out with "Those sweet cookies made me sick as I ever been"… "There's no more paper on the roll again"… "Go tell Rudolf I’m disposed again."… "I'm running late soon Christmas Eve is gonna end, and I'm stuck here on this commode again."

Mr. Geovonte knew right then and there, that he had to let the world know the pressure poor Santa is under every year to get those toys delivered and how all those cookies and milk continue to slow him down more and more! “After I wrote down all the words and lines Santa was singing,  I insisted that he record the song we titled "On The Throne Again" to the tune of  Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again” to get the word out that Santa truly needs a better diet on Christmas Eve and he agreed,” stated Mr. Geovonte.

“As a result of the song, my wish for this year is that the children might leave some reindeer treats, instead like carrots or celery sticks and maybe a nice ginger ale, to soothe my aching tummy as it just isn't what it used to be." said Santa.

The radio promotion team that is used by Regal Records Nashville has promoted some of Country music’s biggest stars, including Garth Brooks and Trace Adkins. But, no one is more well-loved or well-known than Santa. Every little child, at heart, wants him around for a long, long time so Regal Records Nashville is proud to present Santa's first release “On the Throne Again.”
